Short Story Reviews:

I usually don’t listen to stories in general let alone read fiction like this. The narrator of Cold Cold Heart audio book had a great pace and it sure kept my interest in what would happen next. If I had read the book I don’t know if I would have read it all in one day but I’m sure glad I listened to it as it was great. I would gladly listen to another of Karin’s stories.

Country:
Canada

WOW!!!! Very nice! I was drawn in from the start. The story had a very nice pace that kept me interested. Great job Karin……. and nice narration Megan. I like Karin, was also raised in Georgia. It was nice how you incorporated cities in Georgia in the story. I’m a new fan of audiobooks all because of the Cold Cold Heart audio book!

Country:
USA

I liked this book. I haven’t listened to the others, but this one was fine.

I can’t wait to listen to the rest. I like the fact that I can listen to them in a short time.

Free was a great thing too. Hope there will be more books offered in the near future from BMW audiobooks.

Country:
USA

Very intriguing and quirky story, Karin Slaughter is a master of suspense! This is shown in the Cold Cold Heart audio book.
I thought Megan Dodds was particularly convincing and reminded me of “Ruth” in Six Feet Under…
I think this series of short stories is a great initiative and can’t wait to download the next ones.

Country:
United Kingdom

More please! A smooth writing style applied to dark topics is Karin Slaughter’s specialty. I’ve read all her published work to date, and never been disappointed. A writer who leaves you wanting more is a most treasured artist.

Short Story Reviews:

I drive an 18 wheeler truck, and keeping my mind busy is how I stay alert, and that’s what Master of the storm audio book did. I related to the possibilities of the accident, and how seeing things as a Dejavue occure to me, and how people always try to justify it away.
I really liked it, and love audio books, as I am in a vehicle, 12-16 hours a day, they make the time time pass much more quickly.
Thanks James Flint, and BMW Audio Books

PERFECT! A b s o l u t e l l y perfect! One of my favorite from all audio books!

Country:

Master of the Storm audio book is a fantastic story and excellent material for someone who regularly does the sort of journey described (without hitting things though!) I laughed out loud at the dry sardonic descriptions and was gripped until the end. More please!

Country:

Very well done. A pleasure to listen to.

Creepy story….. and not an obvious ending. There was I thinking he’d died and this was some kind of transition to the Great Beyond, but it turned out to be a Redemption tale. More BMW audiobooks please!

This is a fantastic idea. I have downloaded all the BMW audiobooks. But I started with this story and it did not dissapoint me. Nice also to listen to the narrators accent.

The stories could even be made longer since we have gigabytes in our mobile phones.

Don Winslow – Beautiful Ride Audio Book

Short Story Reviews:
What a great short story from Don and another winning performance from Kerry.
This Beautiful Ride audio book short story from BMW has a lot of twists and is well worth the listen.

Country:
New Zealand

This story is exellent. It has a nice Climax. Listening to this story teaches me how to create a great short story. This is the best audiobook story I’ve ever heard yet. I was so interested in the story and this wasn’t a waste of 51 minutes of my time. I enjoyed every minute. This story was so realistic.

Country:
United Kingdom

I loved this story! Well crafted with good pace, well-drawn characters and lots of twists and turns.
A story of human failing and ambitions with a bit of humour thrown in.
The final twist concerning Marcus came as a real surprise for me. Though the clues were there, I’d forgotten about his little plan. A great surprise ending to a thoroughly enjoyable story.
More please!

Country:
United Kingdom

Its not easy writing a decent short story. Listening to Beautiful Ride audio book, Don Winlsow combines perfectly judged humour with a smattering of wisdom about the nature of love and human failing. Combined with a simple story of redemption as his main character decides what really matters in life for him (and us all in reality). The narration was also appropriately ‘tongue in cheek’. It’s one of those rare short audiobook stories that would make a good film. The prose gives more than a nod to the conventions of the genre and past masters. On the whole..good intelligent entertainment and the BMW plugs?.. It had to be done with humour and it was… I couldn’t fault it..all for free.. nice one!

Audio Book Club Location

Audio Book Club Location
Does not need to be a residence

Audio book club location…What is the best spot?

Location is not just important to real estate development. In fact, the audio book club location you decide to host your audio book club will effect who will attend your event but how many people you can open your audio book club to. It is very important to decide either what is your maximum amount of people you want to host at your audiobook club or decide where you want to host the audio book club and how many people can comfortably relax in this space.

Like most people, you are probably looking to have anywhere from three to ten members attend your audio book club. This is a good size to easily work with and you can host this size of book club anywhere including your own home. The favorite audio book club location to host an audio book club or any other club for that matter is a personal residence. It is easy to control the atmosphere and noise levels inside your own home rather than a restaurant for example. Some groups prefer to always meet in the same members home, while other groups enjoy a change in venue. Ask what are the preferences of all the members and if any are willing to host an audiobook club meeting at their house. This makes it fair for everyone within the audio book club as no single one person is responsible for hosting every meeting. Keep in mind though… No member should feel obligated to host a meeting in their home. Some people are just not comfortable to host an audio book club meeting so aside from hosting, there are other ways members can get involved when the club gets together.

It is also easier to provide the good stuff… Beverages, sweets, treats and cocktails… you know, the good stuff. Making your audio book club a pot luck style event keeps the overall cost down. It also makes all the members feel like they are a part of the audio book club. Get every member to bring a small dish that is pre-determined by you the audio book club host. This protects you from having a audio book club meeting with 10 forms of finger sandwiches only.

An audio book club location does not have to stop at a personal residence. There are also other locations that may be available in your area that can also be a good place to host an audio book club. Even though we highly recommend personal residence, there are many other spots that will work as well.

Location, Location, Location!

What other audio book club location do we recommend?

  • a restaurant
  • a library
  • bookstores
  • churches
  • YMCA
  • small hotel board room

The meeting place will influence the number of members in the audiobook club and vice versa. If you have a large book club, contact a library, hotel, church or YMCA to see if they have a meeting room available. Some of these places may charge a fee always check before you commit and know how much your members are willing to pay each for additional expenses.

So do not worry to much about an audio book club location, there always is a place to host a audio book club. The important decision is the size of the audio book club you want to start then determine which venue you can use for the size of the club.
